TRANSIT SPACE
art projects - international collaborations - guest curators.
Transit Space is an exciting new arts organisation based in Hackney, London, offering a professional
platform for emerging artists based in the UK and abroad. Our aim is to create an international network
of exchange and collaboration and to bring about a dialogue between artists, curators and arts
organisations across different cultures and practices. We also offer a platform for guest curators
to explore their ideas and present new talent from around the world. Wherever possible, we avoid
a rolling programme of events, retaining instead free periods that allow us to respond to a more short-term need.Transit Space is a non-profitmaking, artist-led organisation run by Ali Musa and Kathryn Wheatley.
The gallery space is in a former textile factory in Hackney and was renovated with the help of a
European Area Regeneration grant. The venue also offers workshop space which will eventually
be used for residencies and extended international placements. All enquiries should be made to Ali Musa or Kathryn Wheatley.
